To get the most out of the service, putting the right information in your quote request will help the service providers give the user accurate and fast cost estimates. Describe the problem as clearly and briefly as possible
Focus on the symptoms unless the cause is obvious
ie. My tap is leaking, rather than. ‘there is a problem with my plumbing’.
Take a picture with your phone and attach it to your quote request
You can include a picture of the issue while using the HomeFixer app & include in the quote request.
Make sure the picture is clear and sharp.
Using the call function in the app
You can call a service provider in the app. If you press ‘contact’ when viewing a service provider profile, there are three options; call, text, and quote request. Please remember to get written confirmation of what is discussed during the call.
If the service provider needs to visit the site to quote properly, be sure to check if there is a quote fee and to understand what is included in the quote fee. It is best to get this in writing, even if it is a text message or email.
Get quotes from more than one service provider, three to five is optimal. This gives you a good idea of what the average costs are and helps you choose a service provider.
