Follow these quick tips from Chris of Jozi Pools on how to get your pool ready for summer and use the least amount water.
Clean Don’t empty
Firstly, completely emptying your pool is not a great idea. If you have a high water table, your pool can pop out of place and or crack as the pressure of the water in the ground tries to lift the pool.
Secondly, with the ongoing water crisis we need to be very careful with water.
Leave the water in the pool and clean the remaining water. Your first step is to get the filters cleaned and working properly.
Buy a pool cover
If you don’t already have one, get one!
A pool cover will stop most evaporation and has the added benefit of keeping the pool free of debris.
Fill the pool
Add water and don’t forget to put the cover back on!
Test your water
Either call out an expert, take a sample to a pool shop or get a decent test kit and test your water. The more accurate your test results are, the more effective your treatment will be.
Treat your water with the right chemicals
This is a balancing act, Chris from Jozipools.co.za recommends getting your first clean and treatment done by an expert, setting you up for an easy summer of low-maintenance pool enjoyment.
